Maha Vishnu is the deity of this temple, which formerly belonged to the Cochin Royal family. It is believed that, Arjuna (one of the pandavas) established it. The major festivals of this temple will be held from November - December. Athachamayam another cultural festival, is also Celebrated during Onam. It is located in Tripunithura, ten kilometers from Ernakulam.
